First Note is a branded onboarding kit geared toward young adults wanting to learn a new instrument. The goal is to make the process feel exciting, supportive, and memorable. The system includes instrument-specific lesson books, advice cards from professionals, discounts, and playful branded elements. The kit is unified through a bold, colorful visual language inspired by sound, rhythm, and learning.

The project focuses on clear organization, approachable design, and building confidence, helping young adults feel connected to their instrument and motivated from their very first note.

First Note for me is a brand that I wished I had when I began learning the bass. When first conceptualizing I made a mind map of every asset I thought would be valuable to learning young adult musicians.

After creating a purpose for the brand I began sketching logo ideas going off of what I thought music looked like.

Once I landed on the hand as my main logo I dove into the illustrative style of the brand that would be the backbone of my patterns, instrument categories, and lesson diagrams.
